After a break in 2020, we are delighted that we are again able to present this extremely popular session. Mr. Bair will be presenting KBW’s view on the Insurance/Reinsurance industry.  Always insightful and timely, this will be even more so in light of another year of significant claims activity and uncertainly regarding COVID -19 coverage and liabilities as well as substantial M&A activity and a high level of  natural catastrophes around the globe.  We look forward to hearing his analysis and views and the potential effects on, and prospects for, the publicly traded insurance and reinsurance market.

Seth Bair is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Insurance and Asset Management Investment Banking of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. Mr. Bair joined KBW in 1998 and is Co-Head of the firm’s U.S.-based insurance investment banking practice. He is responsible for M&A, public and private capital raisings, mutual conversions and other investment banking services for the insurance industry.

Previously, he was an Analyst in the financial services group of Alex. Brown & Sons, covering insurance companies, depositories and REITs. He received a BA in political economy from Williams College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

This virtual seminar is geared to all levels of experience on conducting casualty underwriting audits of ceding companies.  We will cover areas including pre-audit preparation, key areas of focus during the audit, and wrap up strategies.  Your presenter has 45 years of reinsurance underwriting and executive management experience; and managed the underwriting audit team at PartnerRe for 18 years before retiring at the end of 2020.  He is now acting as a consultant on reinsurance underwriting and providing underwriting auditing services.

Navigating the Future
with 20/20 Vision

Join us at the IRUA’s 2022 Annual Members Meeting & Conference where professionals in reinsurance will gather to discuss the current issues facing the industry in our headline panel: “The Reinsurance Leaders’ Vision of the Future.”   We will also be hosting a mix of brokers and reinsurance buyers to discuss challenges and expectations from both sides of a reinsurance transaction on our “Reinsurance Market Panel”.

In addition to IRUA’s General Session, the conference will have separate interactive workshop tracks available for Property and Casualty.  Attendees will have the opportunity to pick from a selection of topics including: Intellectual Property Insurance, Large Property Losses, Property Marine/Energy, 2019 Catastrophes, Workers Compensation Trends, Moss Torts, Child Victim Liability, Management/Transactional Liability, among others.

The program will open with our traditional Annual Golf Outing on Monday, April 25th followed by the opening night reception with a keynote speaker.  The educational sessions will be a full-day on Tuesday, April 26th and the program will conclude at noon on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 with a casual networking “Fun in the Sun” reception and dinner.

This will be an informative learning and networking experience that everyone in attendance will benefit from.  This program can be submitted for review to the Institutes®CPCU – Risk and Insurance Management for CPCU credit.  Registration and hotel accommodations will open shortly so keep an eye open for further details on the program agenda, registration and sponsorships opportunities available.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Please notify the IRUA regarding any special dietary requirements.
  • Schedule/Speakers subject to change.
  • Refundable only if cancelled, in writing, 30 days prior to the commencement of the event (March 12). A charge of $150 will be levied to cover administrative costs if attendees who have registered cancel. Between 30 and 14 calendar days (March 28) prior there is a 75% refund less the admin fee. On or after March 28 there is no refund available.
