Over the years, the IRUA has recognized industry leaders and professionals who have demonstrated outstanding service for the benefit of the insurance/reinsurance industry. Early in 2022, the IRUA Board of Directors realized that there are also individuals in the industry who have demonstrated a loyalty, determination and unparalleled commitment to the advancement of education and knowledge — a continuing, vital challenge that faces our industry.
The Jeremy R. Wallis Lifetime Achievement award was established to acknowledge those individuals who are highly specialized and skilled in one or more areas of the industry and who maintains a high level of commitment to the continuing education and development within our industry. This individual also goes above and beyond in generously giving of their time and talents in cultivating educational programs and professionals at all levels through a higher knowledge base and understanding of all the elements necessary to succeed in the insurance/reinsurance arena.
Jerry Wallis is a reinsurance consultant and arbitrator and was appointed IRU’s Executive Director in October 2013 after serving as Interim Executive Director since September 2012. His entire professional career has been spent in reinsurance starting in London in the mid-1960s. He transferred to the U.S. in 1973. Jerry was an IRU Director from 1997 to 2012 serving on the Association Governance and Journal of Reinsurance Committees. As IRUA Executive Director, Jerry is committed to providing the best quality, educational services to the IRUA’s membership, tomorrows young professionals and to the industry.
