This session will cover the role and influence of credit rating agencies on the insurance industry with specific focus on A.M. Best. The session, being presented by Mark Murray, Managing Director at Guy Carpenter, will provide an overview of the ratings methodology used by A.M. Best and their proprietary capital model which has been and continues to influence capital management decisions across the industry. It will conclude showcasing ways to manage A.M. Best’s capital requirements and a case study of helping a client obtain its rating goals.
