LUNCH & LEARN: A CASE STUDY IN HIGH EXPOSURE TRUCKING LOSS (On-Site Attendance)

Thursday, July 11, 2019

Seeing a severe liability claim from cradle to grave gave all attendees a whole new perspective as to what drives a claim’s value.   Stuart Miller of Wilson Elser gave an excellent case study of a high exposure trucking loss all the way through verdict.  The audience saw case strategy, mock trials, mock jury deliberations, real jury selection and trial issues and a post-mortem on the actual verdict.

Stuart Miller, a Partner in the prestigious law firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, has presented this case study to varied audiences and we are pleased to have him now bring this study to the IRUA.

A WALL STREET VIEW OF THE INSURANCE & REINSURANCE INDUSTRY

Being Held at the Offices of Mayer Brown LLP

After a capacity audience last January, Mr. Houston will be presenting KBW’s view on the Insurance/Reinsurance industry.  Always insightful and timely, this will be even more so in light of another year of significant M&A activity and severe natural catastrophes around the globe.  We look forward to hearing his analysis and views and the potential effects on, and prospects for, the publicly traded insurance and reinsurance market.

Mr. Houston is responsible for advising insurance companies and insurance services companies on a range of corporate finance transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, public and private capital raising, affiliations, divestures, and bankruptcy/restructuring.

Mr. Houston has worked on many of the firm’s transactions involving mutual insurance companies and specialty property-casualty insurance companies. Mr. Houston joined KBW’s Insurance Investment Banking group upon graduating from Williams College.

This meeting is open to all and registration is $95 per person for an excellent buffet lunch and the opportunity to hear from a leading investment banker specializing in our industry.
